Muted Nordic palette of pine greens and slate blues

Pigment Origins

The natural world as our muse

From Observation to Palette

Every color in our collection begins with careful observation of the Nordic landscape. We document these natural moments through photography, then translate them into usable color systems that bring the outdoors in.

Serene palette inspired by tundra and taiga

Rust Palette

Inspired by a rusted fishing boat found on a remote Nordic shore. The deep oranges and browns of weathered metal, softened by sea air and time, became the foundation for our Rust palette—colors that feel both industrial and organic.

Cool fjord blues and moss greens

Silver-Green

A patch of reindeer moss discovered during a forest walk. The pale, silvery-green tones of this delicate lichen inspired our Silver-Green palette—colors that feel fresh and natural, like morning light filtering through leaves.

Candid natural photography

Birch Bark

The papery texture and subtle tones of birch bark—creams, soft greys, and pale browns—inspired a palette that feels clean and minimal. These colors work beautifully in spaces that need to feel uncluttered and calm.

The Documentation Process

We begin with photography—capturing colors as they exist in nature, in their natural context. A rusted boat isn't just orange; it's orange with grey undertones, softened by weather, surrounded by blue water and grey sky.

These photographs become our reference library. We study them carefully, noting how colors interact with light, how they change in different weather conditions, and how they relate to their surroundings.

From these observations, we extract color values that capture the essence of the natural moment while remaining practical for interior use. The result is palettes that feel authentic and grounded.

Translation to Interior Use

Not every natural color translates directly to interior spaces. We adapt colors while preserving their essential character—maintaining the feeling of the rusted boat or the reindeer moss while ensuring the colors work in human environments.

This process involves testing colors in various lighting conditions, considering how they interact with other materials, and ensuring they support the emotional qualities we want to create.

The final palettes feel both familiar and fresh—grounded in nature but refined for human spaces.

A Living Collection

Our collection continues to grow as we explore new landscapes and discover new color relationships. Each palette tells a story—of a place, a moment, a natural phenomenon. When you use these colors, you're bringing a piece of the Nordic landscape into your space.
